DescriptionKate Adie is an English journalist who was born in Sunderland. The collection covers material dating from 1967 and her early career beginning as a station assistant at BBC Radio Durham. She moved to national news in 1976 and covered the Iranian embassy Siege in 1980. She has reported on many worldwide conflicts including Tiananmen Square 1989, the Gulf War, the war in the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. She has written four books including, Nobody's Child, The Kindness of Strangers, Into Danger and Corsets and Camouflage.
