She travels on the River Wear and talks to Billy Bell about the shipbuilding past; talks to former steelworkers, Bobby Timm and Ron Dorian, about setting up a business with help from the local development agency; talks to Tommy Gaudie about setting up a fishing business; visits the Bridge, a development project for women, and talks to Sheila Johnson and Valerie Burlinson and the women making use of it; visits the Pallion Residents Enterpises Ltd and talks to Gordon Robson about development of youth skills, to the owners of a joinery business, and to Ella Johnson and Alice Davison about setting up a textile business; visits Roker Park, the home of Sunderland Association Football Club; and speaks to police inspector Eric Bell, and David Mitchell of the Juvenile Service, a project offering young offenders alternatives to crime.
